First Day, First Post, First Impressions...

Well, I bought the game via Steam last night and it was all set to go when I woke this morning. I fired it up around 8.30 and after about 15 mins the game went down for "Emergency Maintenance". Not a good start.

I didn't have chance to get back on the game today so my first impressions are based on a very brief playing session.

I feel I must mention the lack of game manual. As I said I bought the digital download version so I didnt get a retail pack but from what I have read on the CO forums people are not impressed with the boxed manual either. I went to the CO website to view my "manual" and it was a total waste of time. Hardly any content, This needs looking at Mythic.

On a plus note I was very impressed with the huge ammount of options you had when creating a "Hero". The vast array of items and combinations should ensure you don't see to many similar characters running around (take note runes of magic team!). Having said that, after clicking the Random buttom a few dozen times and coming up with combinations that all looked like 1970's glam rock outfits I went the manual route when designing my character.

I actually enjoyed the small ammount of time I spent playing but was very surprised and dissapointed at the lack of a "mouse sensitivity" option. A massive oversight and soon to be addressed I hope!

I really had to ramp the graphics down a bit to get an acceptable frame rate but I suspect its my setup more than the game. I am running a 3.8ghz dual core and 8800gt and was hoping for a little more on the performance front but nothing a couple of hundred quid thrown my pc's way won't fix ;)

I will post again after I have had time to play some more, I intend to spend the day playing tomorrow (emergency maintenance permitting).

Spencer.
